Sup de Pub student Charlotte Zeender on studying at Groupe INSEEC London
Here’s a little bit of my story to help you to decide if coming to study abroad in London is right for you. I came to London wanting an international experience and to learn to master the digital environment. I already knew that I wanted to be a strategic planner…
So I joined the Digital Marketing and Social Media course on the INSEEC London campus and what I discovered was beyond all of my hopes. London is full of opportunities to network and I was able to find a great internship in Circle sports, a registered UK charity organisation.
I was put in charge of the online aspects, mostly running the social media channels as a community manager. A few days after starting, I began to take on more responsibilities on a digital campaign with Publicis London (with is the right word as you are really involved). In London, I tended to find that employers and even potential employers value your ability to work more than your status as a student.
Hence, even as a student intern, I was part of each stage of the Publicis London campaign. It was in this situation that the skills and training I developed as a Sup de Pub student became vital during my internship.
Have career opportunities is the most important thing after studying. Sup de Pub London gave me that. Thanks to my placement at Circle as student at INSEEC London, I am employed by charity and social enterprise. Circle is devoted to encouraging youth employment, offering trainings for young people to help them prepare for and find work.
I was given the opportunity to work a really positive and forward thinking viral campaign with Publicis London which highlights the jobless issues raised by Circle UK.
As part of the campaign, on Twitter, using the hashtag #JoblessGeneration you can donate a tweet asking for a job for each young person. We also give the capacity to make a donation for the training programs through Givey circle uk, a platform where all of the donations goes directly to the cause.
You can visit the website and discover the true face of these young people, and also hear from one of their celebrity supporters, Deborah Meaden.
Honestly, London doesn’t see you as a student, but as a person who has to make proof of their work and skills to have the job. So definitely I advise you to come and try studying in London and try harder if it’s not enough the first time to land that international career. Sup de Pub is here to help and to offer you a good network. And at maybe 15 minutes walk to Oxford Circus, the INSEEC London campus is perfectly located. Just come and see!
As you can guess, understanding the digital environment is essential to future employment and landing that dream career. I can only recommend it coming to London to take the time to experience, try and discover what opportunities are available to you. I know that the skills I learned in Sup de Pub’s Digital Marketing & Social Media courses have been essential to my current career path.
To sum up quickly, work hard, stay motivated, tap into the Sup de Pub network and it will work.
