This stream includes 6 core courses covering Investment Management and Capital Markets. Thus it is focused on the perspectives of the shareholders, investors and institutional asset managers, also known as the “buy side” ecosystem in investment banking / Capital Markets.
I started an internship in June 2013 with a broker firm, called FXCM, and have been working for them ever since in London, even during the last academic semester. This experience is very enriching since I have been evolving within the institutional sales desk which is currently selling the fastest FX venue currently on the street to Bank, Hedge Funds, HFTs firm and Asset Managers. My main role within the team is to be a support for the sales team, to monitor that our clients, who trade spot FX, have a good trading experience on our different platforms by looking at trading statistics. My role is not limited to this and was at a certain point more focused on developing tools on excel/vba to perform the required tasks. It’s also appreciated to evolve in a multicultural team and company. For instance, my team is composed of American, British, Indian, French, Italian and Russian people. I guess many companies in London, especially in the financial service areas, are as multicultural as FXCM and I believe this would not be as blatant in Paris.
