Emergency Response Unit Workshop with International Brand Strategy Students
The “ERU Workshop” (Emergency Response Unit) is an intensive day for our students. The Emergency Response Unit is an exercise focused on developing the resilience of the students as well as their curiosity and knowledge of the digital environment. It helps them to take a full approach on issues, from the technical details to the resolution and the anticipation of potential new issues. The approach will require them to solve issue and plan for the future. The key element is to place the students in a state of emotional distress by long waiting periods until things happen. During the game students would discover new technologies or techniques, therefore broadening their approach to strategy and client management
Alexandre Grela is the teacher who has created and coordinate the workshop each semester for Groupe INSEEC London students.
« They (students) need to be prepare, during they future career, in a crisis situation, they will have to find a way to answer to their client, in the best polite way and most importantly, with solutions.
To add more frustration, They also face a very difficult client that will not help them in any way. And an IT department that is not extremely reactive. These behaviours will amplify the levels of stress. The stress factor is essential to bring a realistic side to the experience and thus being as close to the reality as possible. It is the second time we are running this workshop and students really enjoy to experiment this situation, they clearly understand the need to work as a team”.
This workshop end up with a feedback to every group « the workshop has no good or wrong answer, they understand by themselves their error due to the (good or bad) interaction between the client and them ».
